The Mississippi Bail, Amendment 6, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Mississippi on November 3, 1987, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed that the constitution be amended via Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 534. The amendment proposed to amend: Section 29, which would provide that county or circuit court judges may deny bail for offenses punishable by imprisonment for 20 years or more, when the proof is evident or the presumption that the release of the person would pose a danger to other persons.[1]
