The Mississippi Legislative Reapportionment, Amendment 1, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Mississippi on November 6, 1979, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed that the constitution be amended: Section 152. The amendment proposed that the legislature would reapportion itself in the second year following the 1980 census and every ten years thereafter.[1]
