The Missouri "Sharia Law Amendment" will not appear on the November 2012 ballot in the state of Missouri as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment.

The measure would have prohibited courts in the state from using Sharia Law or international law when making judicial decision.[1]

The proposal was sponsored by Rep. Don Wells.

In order to qualify for the ballot, the measure required approval by a majority of the members of each chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. As of January 12, 2012 the bill was not in queue to be heard by the General Assembly.[2]
