Biography
Nadine Diaz was born in Los Angeles, California. Diaz earned an associate degree from East Los Angeles College and a bachelor's degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. Her career experience includes working as a healthcare professional specializing in geriatric health care, teacher, researcher, and social worker. Diaz has served on the advisory council of the Los Angeles Department of Aging and Disability and the board of directors for the CASA Treatment Center for Women.[1]

The city of Los Angeles, California, held elections for city council on May 19, 2015. A primary election took place on March 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was December 3, 2014. Seven of the 15 city council seats were up for election.[2]
In the primary election for District 14, incumbent Jose Huizar faced Nadine Momoyo Diaz, John O'Neill, Mario Chavez and Gloria Molina. Because Huizar received over 50% of the vote, the general election for District 14 was called off.[3]

|My father Anthony, was no stranger to struggles either. Born in 1942, he emerged from the Hazard Park government housing projects in Boyle Heights, where he experienced poverty first-hand. Here, he took his initial steps toward shaping a life intertwined with Kimiko’s.
Fate paved a course that led Anthony and Kimiko to meet at Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights in the late 1950s and marrying in 1960. Kimiko’s contributed to the family’s livelihood by working at the Little Bank of Tokyo in District 14. Her unwavering support enabled Anthony to pursue his education at the University of Southern California (USC), where he earned his Doctorate in Pharmacology, followed by becoming a medical physician, specializing as an Anesthesiologist.- I am committed to fostering economic growth and creating jobs for our community. My plan includes attracting new businesses, supporting local entrepreneurs, and investing in infrastructure projects that will generate employment opportunities. Together, we can build a thriving economy that benefits everyone.
- Our environment is precious, and it's our responsibility to protect it. I am dedicated to implementing sustainable policies that preserve our natural resources, combat climate change, and enhance the overall well-being of our community. Together, we can create a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for generations to come."
- Collaborate with local housing developers to create affordable rent-to-own housing options. These properties would offer tenants the opportunity to rent with the option to purchase after a specified period, during which they can build savings and improve credit.
