At the upper-end of the Millennial Generation, I remember a time without smartphones and social media. But they also appeared at an age that made it easy to adopt. I grew up in the 90s, with all the neon and crimped hair that entails. Though I have lived in 9 states, I have lived in Georgia the longest, and I am honored to run to represent Forsyth County. graduated from Londonderry High School in Londonderry, NH, with plans to join the US Marine Corps. I enlisted 2 days after 9/11, which happened at the beginning of my senior year. Military service is in my blood. My father was an intelligence officer in the Navy, several of my uncles served, both of my grandparents did, my great-grandfather was a POW during WWII. A knee injury unfortunately kept me from serving my country in the military. In 2011 I graduated Kennesaw State University Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's in English. I have since worked in Marketing and as a freelance writer. My husband and I have been married since 2015 and we have four daughters. Our youngest is 5 years old. My twin stepdaughters are 13 and my younger stepdaughter is 10. We love to spend time as a family playing games, going camping, visiting Zoo Atlanta, watching sports and movies, and playing outside, especially with our sweet dog Boo Radley. I have coached all of my stepdaughters in Forsyth County Rec Softball and look forward to more coaching in the future. We also spend a lot of time with our extended family.
  • We must return to public servants who truly serve the people - ALL people of their districts. I am here to listen and learn from every member of my district.
  • There is too much corruption in American politics. We must work to make it a government truly by the people with campaign finance reform, voting access, and term limits.
  • Just as we gather as a neighborhood to help a family in need, I feel we should be doing that as a county and state. There are people in need in GA. Let's help them get on their feet.
What do I care about? In a nutshell, the economy, the environment, education, and equality. What kind of issues does that impact?

Property valuation for tax purposes
Public education funding and access
Affordable health-care access
Protecting the environment
Gun safety reform
Recognizing bodily autonomy
Ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment
Protections for the LGBTQ+ community
Criminal Justice Reform

Religious freedom for all religions
I look up to those who sand up for their convictions even if unpopular or in the face of extreme pressure. It takes a special kind of courage to look at your party and say "no, this is wrong, I am not going along with this" - especially on hot button issues.
Willingness to serve the people and not your own interests. Integrity. But mostly compassion and empathy.
I care deeply about serving every citizen of my district - even those that I might not agree with many issues on. I truly want what is best for every citizen of Forsyth.
To truly serve the people of the district, not the party or the state. You are the employee of the people who elected you and should listen to them and vote according to their wishes.
That I left office having made a positive impact on the lives of the citizens of my district and the state.
Columbine happened by freshman year of high school. 9/11 happened my senior year of high school.
I worked at a friend's parents' print shop for a summer.
House reps serve a smaller portion of the population than their Senate counterparts. This means they can be more attuned to specific needs of communities that might not otherwise have a voice.
I think an interest and knowledge of politics is a benefit, but that one needn't have served in a government position before to be considered qualified. There is enough gatekeeping preventing more people from running and keeping the same people in power already. We don't need more.
We are ranked very low nationally for maternal mortality rate, education, and more. We need to really focus on caring for the citizens of our state.
The legislature should not be taking orders from the governor but keeping him in check, serving the populations that elected them and not the party.
Absolutely. From all parties. Stalemates serve no one and legislation being tabled due to interpersonal conflict are a blight on our democratic process. We must be willing to build bridges.
Nonpartisan, independent organizations drawing the lines based on voter-determined districts. Gerrymandering undermines the democratic process
Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Education, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Higher Education, Health & Human Services, Human Relations & Aging, Natural Resources & Environment, Ethics, Governmental Affairs
Yes. I am not sure what office but I can see myself moving to a different office after serving some time in the state legislature. I believe in term limits, so I would step down after a few terms if elected.
The valedictorian of Lambert HS in Forsyth County, in his graduation speech, mentioned that the students of the county receive no formal education about the fraught racial history here. The current legislators all voted against the bi-partisan hate crimes legislation. A mom in the district told me about an incident with her children at school and how angry and hurt see was that her elected House rep and Senator didn't vote for those additional protections in the Hate Crime legislation. She said she, and many others, have long felt the current legislators are representing only a select few of the county and not everyone.
