HeLLmanVote.com. Campaign Manager wanted. I’m 38, married for 15 years, and a University of Texas at Austin Longhorn graduate who graduated both valedictorian from Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, and valedictorian from my police academy. I’m a Texas real estate agent, Austin Community College District (ACC) Police Officer, ACC American Federation of Teachers (ACC AFT) member, and ACC Classified Employee Association President. I am also a member of the Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA), Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas (CLEAT), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA)
  • HeLLmanVote.com, We need to provide basic needs to AISD students and staff such as access to showers and food for those who are facing housing challenges. We need to creatively utilize or rent AISD land, buildings, and technology. We need to develop student leaders by inspiring, educating, loving, empowering, and meeting their needs.
  • HeLLmanVote.com, Challenges face AISD [including] academic excellence, developing student leaders, securing long-term future funding, access to resources, access to advanced technology, and meeting the basic needs of students and AISD teachers/staff. A task force should be created to solve each specific AISD issue. If AISD serves the community, AISD will never fail.
  • www.HeLLmanVote.com, We need to improve communication and feedback between the School Board and community engagement. We will listen to the voices and needs of students, parents, community members, partners, and all stakeholders. Then we need to reengage and assess to meet the needs and future challenges of AISD.
Citizen Communication is where we get to hear the voices of students, parents, teachers, staff, businesses, partners, associates, and stakeholders in the community. Anyone can come to voice their concerns and express their free speech. We will need to prioritize and create special function committees and task forces to address each specific issue. We will need to develop leaders on all sides to solve complex challenges.
A book, On Liberty, by John Stuart Mill describes that we are all part of the same social fabric or social contract. We have a duty of care to each other and a social obligation to each other. This book makes you think about our interrelatedness, connection, togetherness, and association. You will have to make your own choice.
Transparency allows a platform to engage all community stakeholders to assess the needs of students, staff, and the community.
Our strongest gift should be inspiring the best in each other.
Some core responsibilities include being financially responsible, assessing needs, allocating resources, aligning with the mission and values, duty of care, academic excellence, transparency, citizen communication, community engagement, and development of leadership of both students and staff.
We need to inspire, help, educate, and spread joy and love to others.
I remember September 11, 2001, sitting in history class watching it unfold on an old television on a metal pushcart.
Carhop at Sonic Drive-In was my first official job during high school. My first unofficial job was pushing a lawnmower cutting grass with my dad and brothers.
The goal is to inspire greatness in students while being responsible to students, staff, the greater community, and taxpayers. Students are the wealth of a nation and the future.
The voters of the taxing district, students, staff, and the greater Austin community.
We need to help all students succeed through inspiration, love, empowerment, and basic sustainable resources. We need to make all people feel welcome and we need to listen, engage, and meet their needs.
All community members are welcome to engage during citizen communication, special function committees, task forces, and with grassroots leaders everywhere.
Every student is different. The two biggest factors are inspiration, motivation, and having a system to educate students. Technology can be useful. However, I do not know any students who can study or learn when hungry or facing housing challenges. I don't know any teachers who can learn while facing housing challenges or hunger either.
We need more college programs for AISD students and early college entry. We need to support technology, science, computer science, trades, and mathematics. We need to ask children what they want and ask industry stakeholders what is needed.
We have to work with community members, stakeholders, businesses, partners, and stakeholders to ensure long-term funding. We also need to work with local, state, and federal governments. We can rent AISD land and utilize advanced technology. We can consider mutual aid agreements and resource sharing.
Twenty-four-hour, around-the-clock security to keep kids safe. Here are some options that need to be considered to keep schools safe including supporting current police officers, considering supplementing with school marshals, and considering supplementing with school guardians. We need to maintain AISD Police to ensure alignment with AISD's mission and values while serving students, staff, and the community.
Everyone needs to play an operational role to help manage the health needs of students, staff, and the community. We need to provide more resources for mental health and housing challenges. We need to cultivate these values of care in ourselves and our children. We also need to create a welcoming environment where people are not afraid of the stigma of mental health so they may speak to someone to get help.
We need to assess executive staff costs and overhead. We need to utilize creative technology to help address challenges. We need to utilize AISD land more effectively. This may include reorganizing use or renting land that might be most in demand. We should rarely sell any land. AISD land belongs to the community, it should never be sold. We can partner with a community member or business for mutual interest. We need all staff to be better trained to respond in an emergency and understand the broader operations of the district. This way our teachers and staff can step up in an emergency to better serve students. We need to develop student leaders and understand their interests. We need to inspire, educate, motivate, and love students to succeed. We need to develop leadership in our staff. We also need to have higher standards of academic excellence. I was valedictorian of my high school in Dallas, Texas because I am motivated and have a system of learning. We need to inspire and motivate our students. This requires understanding.
The ideal learning environment depends on the age of the student and the development of the brain. When we are younger we might rely more on repetition. Some students face developmental challenges and will need specialists. However, as children get older we have to understand them and figure out how to more effectively motivate and inspire what already exists in a student. This is so they want to learn, grow, be their best, and better their lives and family. We also need to help them develop the best system of learning based on their individual needs. I was valedictorian of Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, and my police academy after college because I have a system of learning.
The coronavirus pandemic was unique but was managed with care, concern, and feedback. This included utilizing social distancing, smaller class sizes, masks, and disinfectant. It was well planned and staff were trained. We need to get kids coming back to school at pre-pandemic levels. We need to provide more community resources. What does the community need? What do students need? If we can answer these questions, AISD will never fail and the school will increase in enrollment.
We must make parents and stakeholders welcome to engage me including on the board during citizen communication. We also need a task force or special function committee to engage the community on each specific issue or concern. Lastly, we must develop leaders to engage community members while solving challenges.
We need to create an amazing environment. We need to improve the workplace culture and climate which costs nothing. Simply treat employees better. We must also pay competitive wages that provide a living wage in Central Texas.
I strongly believe in financial transparency and government accountability. The community, parents, students, and stakeholders cannot provide any oversight if we are not transparent. The community should demand accountability.
