Nevada: Judge for the Nevada Second Judicial District Court, Robert Perry, passed away on December 20, 2011 at the age of 68 after a lengthy illness. His family was with him at the time of his death.[1]

Perry served the court since receiving an appointment from former Governor Kenny Guinn in 2005. He was elected to the court in 2008 and would have been up for re-election in 2014. A commission will be formed to nominate three candidates to fill his seat. Those recommendations will go to Governor Sandoval who will select Perry's replacement.

Colleague District Court Judge Patrick Flanagan said "Judge Perry was a good person, with a strong sense of right and wrong, and who deeply cared about everybody who appeared in front of him. He was a fine judge."[2]
