New judge appointed to New Orleans Traffic Court

New Orleans, Louisiana: Lawyer John "Ross" Smith was appointed by the state Supreme Court to serve as a temporary judge on the Traffic Court of New Orleans. He will replace the late Dennis Dannel, who passed away in January of 2011. Smith will take office on September 15, 2011 and will serve until December 31st, or until further order of the court. He could also be elected in the special election to replace Dannel on October 22nd.

Smith graduated from the Southern University Law Center in 1988 and is a former New Orleans deputy city attorney. Since 1989, he has worked as a private practice lawyer in New Orleans.[1][2]
