Noel Pineo
Noel Pineo was a candidate for Ward 5 representative on the Bakersfield City Council in California. Pineo was defeated in the special election on June 6, 2017.
Biography
Pineo earned a B.A. from the California State University in Fullerton in geography, with a minor in geology.[1]
At the time of his 2017 run for office, Pineo identified himself as a stay-at-home parent and substitute teacher. His professional experience includes being a high school science teacher.[1]

Campaign themes
2017
Pineo believed that Bakersfield should do more preventive maintenance on city roads, and expressed concern that delaying road repairs causes the cost of those repairs to increase. He also favored increasing property and sales taxes in the city to bring in additional revenue. Pineo also supported spending more money on the training of police officers, especially in areas such as de-escalating dangerous situations and dealing with citizens who are mentally ill.[1]
