This measure had tried again to get a 7.9 mill operations levy passed by district voters. This measure failed in the May 4 election so school officials had tried again to get money they believe they need to run the district. The tax is estimated to generate near $6.5 million a year for school expenses, notably teacher salaries and extra curricular activity continuation. The average homeowner would have paid around $241 annually in extra taxes if this had been approved.[2]
