Patricia "Patty" C. Mach was a Position 5 representative on the Shawnee Mission School District Board of Education in Kansas. She was first elected to the board on April 3, 2007. Zila won re-election unopposed in the general election on April 7, 2015.

Mach was born in Weston, Mo., on July 28, 1958. She earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Kansas in 1980 and worked on campaigns for presidential candidate Bob Dole (R) and Rep. Dan Quayle (R).[1]

In 1985, Mach earned her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and became a law associate at Blackwell Sanders et. al. in Kansas City, Mo. She retired from law in 1988 to be a stay-at-home mom.[1]

Four seats were up for election on April 7, 2015. Position 1 incumbent Sara Goodburn defeated challenger Mark Ellis.[2] Position 7 incumbent Joan Leavens was the only incumbent not to file for the election. Elizabeth Rulo and Brad Stratton ran for the open at-large seat which Stratton won.[2] Position 3 incumbent Deb Zila and Position 5 incumbent Patty Mach won re-election unopposed.[2]
