This measure sought to increase the current income tax to a rate of 2 percent for a continuing period of time in order to continue to pay for general costs in the village.[2]

The question on the ballot:

Shall the Village of Perry Income Tax used for general operating purposes be increased from one percent to two percent commencing January 1, 2011 and first due in calendar year 2012?[3]
