Pilar Candia was a candidate for District 9 representative on the Fort Worth Independent School District school board in Texas. Candia was defeated in the by-district general election on May 6, 2017.

Five of nine seats on the Fort Worth Independent School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on May 6, 2017. In District 1, incumbent Jacinto Ramos Jr. ran unopposed in his bid for re-election. Due to the lack of opposition, the election was canceled and Ramos Jr. was automatically re-elected to another term.[1] Incumbent T.A. Sims defeated challenger Johnny Cook-Muhammad in the District 4 race. District 7 incumbent Norman Robbins defeated challenger Michael Ryan. District 8 incumbent Matthew Avila filed for re-election but withdrew from the race on February 18, 2017.[2] Newcomer Anael Luebanos defeated newcomer Jason Brown for the open seat. In District 9, incumbent Ashley Paz defeated Pilar Candia in her re-election bid.[3]
