Why are you running for this office?
"Performance of Frisco ISD is OK. It can be better.
School is missing Financial responsibility. I saw the financial report. At many places I saw contingency fund. Which tell me administration wants to keep extra money aside to cover mistakes and not learn from mistakes. Not only that - there is lot of pork in the system which the tax payer is paying. I have run school efficiently. I know how to catch the financial nerve of a system.
It is known fact different people learn differently. I would like school to offer education using various tools that are visual, written and verbal. School may say they have the tools available. I have seen those tools for past 7 year and quality is very bad.
Missing the basic stepping stone of education. The system lacks proper education support. I have seen kids participate in various extracurricular activities. School support is zero - right from elementary to high school. Just taking kids to competition is not support. But providing proper guidance, material to prepare is missing."
Why should voters choose you over your opponent?
"There are many reasons I am running for this post:
1) First and foremost offer excellent education to children by various way to deliver the concept. Not me too education system but really world class school system.
2) Bring Financial responsibility
3) Excellent extra-curricular system that will support kids.
4) Be voice of customer that is acutely missing."
If elected, what two issues should be given the most attention and resources during your term in office?
"1) World class education system and extracurricular activity for kids.
2) Financial responsibility."
If you are not an incumbent trustee, have you attended any school board meetings? If so, what have you learned from them about how a board member can be effective?
"I have communicated privately to school board and system without no results. Also I feel this is question is mute. We need people who can swim in any wave. Not me too product. People who can swim in any wave can take this system to new level."
As you look around the country, what innovative ideas would you recommend for improving classroom performance?
"Yes. I have looked at system in Georgia, California and many other states. I have many ideas to improve kids vocab, imaginative ideas and extra curricular activity. It is not possible to list all the ideas but some of them are:
1) It is voluntary - Kids can take books from school, read at home and come to school to check their understanding based on simple computer based questions
2) Develop cost effective partnership to provide extracurricular support to kids."
Should teacher and principal pay be linked to school performance?
"Yes. But the current system have incumbents that support no testing. That mean no accountability either from teacher or students. I understand there are different school of thoughts on testing the kids and level of testing."
Do you support or oppose charter schools in your school district?
"Privatization is generally better. Because it leads to competition and thus better education. Government involvement should be less. Private companies will work on performance and efficiency."
How would you assess your school district's efforts to improve its graduation rates and increase the number of students prepared for college? What further improvements would you advocate?
"It is good criteria to check how many student graduated. But that should not be only criteria. Quality parameter should also be there. I looked at school statistics. It is not encouraging. I have heard from many people that teachers do not have proper qualification to teach the subject but they are gainfully employed."
How would you rate parental involvement in your school district and how would you seek to improve it?
"Parent involvement should be there in beneficial way. ISD fails miserably in this area. I wanted to help kids in mathematics. I offered my help to ISD. I was told thank you for your help. If I was in ISD, I would tap into that source. I understand there has to be some control mechanism to help students. Use technology to impart education. It is not necessary they child and the education delivery source to meet face to face."
What resources are lacking in schools in your trustee district?
"Nothing but the caliber to deliver. We are taking more loan than we should take. There has to be financial responsibility."
What is the most crucial issue facing this district that the school board and superintendent aren’t addressing, and how would you recommend this issue be addressed?
"Many.
1) Education quality is not to satisfactory level. That takes tool on student and parents.
2) Parent complain are not addressed
3) Financial responsibility missing."[4]
