Richard A. Simons is the first justice for the Berkshire Probate and Family Court in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.[1] He was nominated to the court by former Governor Deval Patrick in January 2008 and was confirmed by the Governor's Council in February 2008.[2] Simons was sworn into office on May 16, 2008, and may serve on the court until he turns the mandatory retirement age of 70.[3][4]

Education

Simons received his undergraduate degree from Union College and his J.D. from the Boston University Law School.[2]

Career

Before he joined the Berkshire Probate and Family Court, Simons was a partner at the law firm of Simons, Smith & Gerrard in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.[2]
