Richard S. Fields is the former presiding judge of the Criminal Bench of the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona.[1][2] He served from 1997 to 2018.[3][4]

Governor Fife Symington (R) appointed Fields to the court in 1997.[4] He retired in 2018.[3]

Education

Fields received his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and his J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law.[4]

Career

Fields served as a Pima County Superior Court judge. He practiced privately for over 18 years. He was appointed to the bench by Gov. Fife Symington in 1997.[4]

Arizona held elections for 80 superior court judgeships on November 8, 2016. Sixty-three of those seats were up for retention election. Three counties—Maricopa, Pima, and Pinal—use retention elections for their superior courts.[5]

Fields was retained with 79.27% of the vote in the general election on November 6th.[6][7]
