Robert B. Foster is an associate justice for the Massachusetts Land Courts in Massachusetts.[1] He was nominated to the court by former Governor Deval Patrick on September 27, 2011, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Charles W. Trombly, Jr.[2] His nomination was confirmed by the Governor's Council on October 26, 2011.[3] Foster may serve on the court until he turns the mandatory retirement age of 70.[4]

Education

Foster received his undergraduate degree from Haverford College in 1979 and his J.D. from the Harvard Law School in 1992.[2]

Career

From 1993 until he joined the Massachusetts Land Courts in 2011, Foster worked as a litigation attorney for the firm of Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster in Boston, Massachusetts. He also previously served as a judicial law clerk for Justice Herbert P. Wilkins of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.[2]
