Robert H. Surles

Robert H. Surles is a judge for the Court of Common Pleas in New Castle County, Delaware. He was appointed by Governor Jack Markell in February 2013 for a term that expires in 2025.[1]
Education
Surles received a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware in 1985, and a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 1990.[1]
Career
Prior to his judicial appointment, Surles served as a senior trial attorney with the New Castle County Trial Unit. He was also a military judge for the Delaware Army National Guard. For over 12 years, he was the Unit Head of the Department of Justice’s Felony Screening and Drug Units. He served in Iraq with the National Guard in 2005.[2]
