Robert T. Hanson is a judge of the Illinois Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court. He was appointed Circuit Judge on March 26, 2012, effective July 4, 2012, to replace Stephen C. Pemberton. He was re-elected on Nov. 6, 2012 for a term that expires in December of 2018.[1][2]

Education

Hanson received his undergraduate degree (Business Administration) from the University of Iowa in 1977 and his J.D. degree from Drake University Law School in 1980.[3]

Career

Hanson worked for the law firm of Smith, Hanson, Hahn, Morrow, & Floski, P.C. for 25 years prior to his first judicial appointment in 2006. That year, he was appointed associate judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit. In 2012, he was promoted to Circuit Judge.[3][1]

2012 election

Hanson was elected without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. He was unopposed in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012.[4][5][6]
