2016

Rogers' campaign website highlighted the following issues:[6]

  • An Economy that Supports Our Businesses and Workforce:

We need the right incentives to attract new businesses, foster a climate that creates new jobs and helps small businesses grow, and build our future with smart investments and sound infrastructure.

  • A Stable and Sustainable Budget:

We need representation that acts to balance our budgets, preserves services, and keeps taxes in check to ensure our state succeeds in the future.

  • Paid Family Leave:

No family member should be faced with choosing between their family or their employer. The residents of our communities work hard each day to support their families but when they are injured or ill, have a baby, or need to care for a sick family member, they can no longer rely on a steady paycheck.

  • Better Access to Educational Opportunities:

Connecticut has a long tradition of providing a first-class public education for or youth. Now we need to continue to be leaders in education by making high-quality preschool available to every child, making college more affordable for our young adults, and expand career and technical education programs to better prepare those entering the workforce.

  • A Voice for Our District and An End to the Status Quo:

We need leadership, accountability, and action in the state legislature. Our current representation has weakened the voice of our district and is out of touch on the issues facing our communities.[5]
