Sally Spiers
Sally Spiers was a 2015 Republican candidate for District 17 of the Indianapolis, Indiana City Council. Sally Spiers lost the general election on November 3, 2015.
Biography
Spiers is from Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University in 1970 with a degree in philosophy. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the mayor's office.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[2] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[3]
In the Republican primary election for District 17, Sally Spiers ran unopposed. In the Democratic primary, Zach Adamson also ran unopposed. Adamson defeated Spiers in the general election. Incumbent Mary Moriarty Adams (D) did not run for re-election.[4]
