The most important characteristics for any elected official is empathy and a willingness to work hard.
Listening to constituents and using the platform of the office to make change to improve their lives.
The biggest moment that shaped my life was undoubtably September 11, 2001. I was a high school student and in the same year, my father was diagnosed with cancer. That year undoubtably shaped much of my world view.
"The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, because I'm fascinated with other eras of our nation's history, and it is reflective of the 1920s
Because of longer terms, the Senate has the ability and responsibility to think more long-term about policy decisions.
I believe it is important to have diverse experiences and skills in the state legislature. I believe beyond any experience, the most important attributes are the ability to listen and try to find solutions to help those in your district.
The greatest challenge for Minnesota will be how to recovery from COVID-19. I believe, however, that this moment in our history presents an opportunity for new, innovative ideas.
I believe the legislature should partner with the governor to determine priorities for the state. The legislature is a place for those priorities to be debated and shaped with input from the community.
Absolutely. I have already begun building those relationships with other senators and future senators. I hope to have the privilege of working alongside them to move Minnesota forward.
I support an independent, nonpartisan committee that does not use racial or other identifying information for the purposes of drawing district boundaries.
