February 8, 2024: Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters either strongly oppose (43%) or somewhat oppose (26%) sending American soldiers into battle to help Israel. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 23% of voters either strongly favor (8%) or somewhat favor (15%) taking such action.

The survey also found that 70% of voters believe it is more important for the U.S. to keep out of a wider war in the Middle East than it is for the U.S. to help Israel in its current conflict. Twenty-one percent (21%) of voters think helping Israel is more important.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on January 24-25, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
