July 1, 2025: Thirty-nine of the top 100 cities hold elections in even-numbered years. Thirty-eight hold elections in odd-numbered years, and 23 hold them during both.
As of this writing, Miami, Florida City Commission has voted 3-2 in favor of moving the elections in the city from odd to even years. If Miami wants the change to be official, the City Commission must vote in favor a second time on June 26, 2025. If Miami does approve the decision to change, they will become the 40th city of the top 100 cities in America to have elections on even-numbered years.
