November 3, 2022: Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters see inflation as the single most important issue in the upcoming midterm elections. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 11% say crime and gun violence is most important. No other issue reaches double digits.
The survey also found that 73% say inflation is very important in terms of how they will vote. Majorities also say that crime and gun violence (62%), other economic issues (57%), health care (54%), and education (52%) are very important.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on October 18-22, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
