Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for October 12, 2022
The Number of the Day columns published on Ballotpedia reflect the views of the author.
October 12, 2022: Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters who are currently employed say that their jobs give them a sense of satisfaction and purpose. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 43% say their jobs are just a way to earn money and pay the bills.
The survey also found that among those employed voters, 81% say that their jobs are significant in how they see themselves. Just 18% say their jobs are not. This may explain why nearly 2-out-of-3 (63%) say they would keep their jobs even if a government program was created that would pay them enough to live decently without working. Just 20% say they would quit their jobs if such a program was created.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on September 29-October 1, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
