Fiscally conservative Republican, father of two adult children, businessman, and proud Councilman for Louisville Metro District 16.
  • We must replenish our police force after the disastrous last four years of the prior administration! Public Safety is the number one responsibility of local government.
  • Development is occurring through District 16. As Vice Chair of the Planning & Zoning committee, I will fight to ensure that we have a voice in good development that will benefit our district and city.
  • As a small businessman, I keenly understand the impact excessive regulations have on expanding the local economy. In order to be a world class city, we must reduce the burdens for small and larger businesses to make it easier for job growth and retention.
Public Safety, Zoning, Economic Decelopment.
Transparency, accessibility to constituents, honesty.
I am a small businessman who has worked to employ thousands over a 30 year career, many from the inner city who needed a second chance in life and employment. These qualities have helped me understand and advocate for fiscally responsible government. Local governments need more representation from businesspeople, teachers, nurses, etc.
To be readily available for constituent interaction while recognizing that the district has multiple suburban city, local municipalities. Protecting the sanctity of the suburban cities is imperative when many in local government would prefer they do not exist.
That I listened to my constituents and represented the interests of the 16th District.
I worked at the Jewish Community Center’s outdoor pool snack bar at age 15 for a summer just before my junior year in High School!
The Bible. The most influential book in history.
Wedding Bell Blues by the Fifth Dimension. No clue why!!
Where to the melons go for the summer?

“To John Cougars Mellonkamp!”
As a long term member of the Government Accountability and Oversight committee, I strongly believe that ethical and transparent use of taxpayer dollars is of the utmost importance. Open records laws should never be diminished or reduced.

Serving the people of the 16th District over the past three-plus years has been an honor. There are challenges facing the district and city that I feel I am best able to solve. In my first term, I have focused my efforts on infrastructure (roads), public safety, and protecting the suburban cities from an overly intrusive Metro government. During that time, we have increased paving from $3 million to nearly $20 million annually and more than 90% of all discretionary funds have been spent on infrastructure improvements.
Fully funding road and sidewalk construction and repair. Making sure our police and fire/safety personnel have the best training and equipment. Responsible development that ensures the proper road development and good traffic flow. Fiscal responsibility and spending within the means of the taxpayer. Protecting suburban cities from an overly intrusive Metro government.
Jackie Robinson. He integrated baseball and endured insults and racial bigotry that would have broken a lesser man.
Working the snack bar at the Louisville Jewish Community Center.
The Bible. Eternal truths.
Yes. The amount of time and effort that goes into balancing a budget, something that must be done by state law.
No. I believe that those who have experience at the grass roots level, though, can make a huge impact in local and state government.
The ability to hold true to key values and view decisions on what is in the best interests of the taxpayers.
