Sheila Tipton
Sheila Tipton (b. November 4, 1973) was a member of the Iowa Utilities Board. Tipton was appointed to the three-member Iowa Utilities Board by Gov. Terry Branstad to a term beginning August 19, 2013 and ending in April 2015. She was confirmed by the Iowa State Senate during the 2014 legislative session.
Biography
Tipton is an attorney specializing in energy law.[1] At the time of her appointment to the Iowa Utilities Board, she was practicing at the Des Moines-based law firm of Belin McCormick, in which she is a shareholder and has focused on essential infrastructure law.[2]
Throughout her career as an attorney, Tipton has lent her expertise on energy law to a number of lecture presentations and publications, including her presentation on "How Energy Policy is Evolving at the State Level - Iowa" at the Third Annual Conference on New Developments in Renewable Energy in the Midwest, which was held August 26, 2011.[2]

Tipton was appointed to the three-member Iowa Utilities Board by Gov. Terry Branstad on July 19, 2013 and took office on August 19, 2013. She replaced Swati Dandekar on the board following Dandekar's resignation to run for the United States House of Representatives.
