This measure sought to renew the current safety levy which is set at a rate of $.05 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to help pay for the Service and Safety Department of the city and help buy vehicles and equipment.[2]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| A renewal of a tax for the benefit of the City of Solon for the Service and Safety Departments, for the purpose of acquiring vehicles and equipment, at a rate not exceeding 0.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 5 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3] |
