I’m Stacey Chase, and I’m running for re-election to continue serving as your Conroe ISD School Board Trustee. As a resident of The Woodlands for nearly a decade, with both of my children attending Conroe ISD schools, I’ve been deeply involved in our community. My spouse and I have actively volunteered in PTOs or Watch DOG, and I’ve mentored students, giving me firsthand insight into our district’s needs.

Professionally, I’m a CPA, MBA, and Director of Internal Audit for a multinational company, bringing expertise in governance, financial oversight, and data-led decision-making. As Chair of the Audit and Investment Committee, I believe in transparency and accountability, ensuring our community can trust how their tax dollars are managed.

During my time on the board, my focus has been on improving student outcomes, ensuring safety and security, and managing resources responsibly. I’ve always worked to ensure Conroe ISD follows the law and have consistently voted to protect the district’s interests.

I’m running for re-election because I believe in continuing this work to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed in a safe, well-supported environment. I’m not driven by ideology—my decisions are grounded in what’s best for our students and our community.
  • Student Outcomes Focus: I’m committed to ensuring that every decision we make as a board prioritizes the success of our students. I believe in creating an environment where all students, no matter their background, have the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.
  • Financial Oversight: As a CPA and Chair of the Audit and Investment Committee, I bring a strong focus on transparency, accountability, and responsible management of taxpayer dollars. Our community deserves full confidence in how their tax dollars are spent, and I will continue to ensure that our financial decisions are made with integrity.
  • Safe and Supportive Schools: All students and staff deserves to feel safe at school. I will continue to advocate for measures that enhance campus security and foster a supportive environment for students’ mental and emotional well-being. Safe schools are essential to student success, and I’m dedicated to maintaining and improving safety across the district.
I’m passionate about Education Funding, advocating for increasing the basic allotment, shifting to enrollment-based calculation, and opposing vouchers that divert public funds from public schools. I also prioritize increasing funding for Special Education (SPED) and support expanding mental health resources to ensure student have access to things they need.
Equally important is Educator Retention and Recruitment. Teachers should be fairly compensated, and we must stop relying on their unpaid labor and dedication to fill gaps. Valuing their time and work is crucial for retaining quality educators and ensuring the success of our students.
Integrity: Acting honestly and transparently, making decisions in the best interest of the community.

Accountability: Taking responsibility for actions and decisions and being open to feedback.

Fairness: Ensuring all voices are heard and advocating for equitable solutions.

Commitment: Being dedicated to serving the community and following through on promises.

Leadership: Guiding with vision, empathy, and a focus on positive results for all.
I believe several key qualities make me a strong candidate for office. First, integrity—I’m committed to making decisions based on what is right for our students and community, not on ideology. Second, accountability—I hold myself responsible for the outcomes of the decisions I make and am committed to transparency with the public. I also bring expertise, with my background as a CPA and internal audit director, allowing me to manage financial oversight and governance effectively. Lastly, dedication—I’m deeply invested in the success of our schools, educators, and students, and I’m committed to listening to the community and acting on their behalf.
My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I’ve always loved it for the sharp wit, strong characters, and the way it dives into social dynamics. Elizabeth Bennet is a favorite of mine—her intelligence, independence, and the way she stands up for herself really resonate with me. Plus, it’s just a great mix of romance, humor, and personal growth. It’s a story that’s both fun to read and has a lot of depth and I re read it every January to start my new year off right.
One of the biggest struggles in my life has been balancing the demands of being a working mother, especially with a job that requires travel, while also juggling other demands on my time, like School Board Trustee, Girls Scouts Treasurer, Student Mentor, getting my CPA and finishing my MBA, etc. It’s challenging to juggle all of this and still be there for my children. I’ve been able to accomplish so much because of the incredibly supportive husband I have, who helps me every step of the way with our two girls. His support, as a working father, has been invaluable in helping me manage my career, community service, and family life, and I’m grateful for that every day.
In my view, the primary job of a school board member is to ensure that every decision we make serves the best interests of the students, staff, and the community. This includes setting strategic priorities, overseeing the district’s budget, and holding the district accountable for academic outcomes and operational efficiency. We must ensure that schools are safe, well-funded, and that policies support student success. Above all, a school board member’s role is to listen to the community and act as a voice for its needs.
My policies for school safety are driven by several key principles. Prevention is essential, focusing on proactive measures like secure entrances, advanced surveillance, and trained security personnel to prevent threats before they occur. Preparedness ensures that staff and students are well-equipped with the necessary training and resources to respond effectively to emergencies. I also prioritize the well-being of students, emphasizing both physical and mental safety by fostering supportive environments where students feel secure and valued. Finally, collaboration is crucial, working closely with law enforcement, mental health professionals, and the community to ensure a comprehensive approach to school safety.
Supporting the mental health needs of students, faculty, and staff is critical. We can and must do more. I will continue advocating for increasing access to on-campus mental health professionals, ensuring early intervention and support. Implementing mental health training for staff and educating parents and students to help them identify and assist those in need. I will continue to promote programs that reduce stigma around mental health and foster a supportive environment where students and staff feel comfortable seeking help when needed.
7 former CISD School Board Trustees, 2 current CISD School Board Trustees, past CISD Superintendent, CISD parent led PAC, as well as numerous educators, parents, and community members.
I believe strongly in financial transparency and government accountability as essential pillars of public trust. As Chair of the Audit and Investment Committee, I’ve worked to ensure that taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly, and that the community has full access to how funds are being allocated. Clear oversight and transparent financial practices allow us to make informed, data-driven decisions that best serve our students and schools while maintaining the trust of our community.
