The Statewide Mutual Aid Compact is an intrastate compact, rather than an interstate compact. Counties and jurisdictions throughout the state of Iowa entered into this compact, which encourages assistance from different counties and cities in the event of an emergency or disaster that affects multiple areas within the state.[1]
