Steve Laffey
Steve Laffey was a 2014 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 4th Congressional District of Colorado.[1]
Laffey is a former mayor of Cranston, Rhode Island, and 2006 Republican primary candidate for U.S. Senate in Rhode Island.[2]
On May 21, 2013, Laffey announced his candidacy for Governor of Colorado.[3] He withdrew his bid three days later in response to GOP ex-U.S. Rep Tom Tancredo's entrance into the race.[4]

Laffey ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Colorado's 4th District. Laffey was defeated by Ken Buck in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014.[5]

Laffey ran briefly for election to the office of Colorado Governor in 2014. He had planned to seek the Republican nomination in the primary election but promptly dropped out after "like-minded" conservative and former congressman Tom Tancredo entered the race in the interest of preserving Republican Party unity.[4]
Incumbent Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) ran for re-election in 2014.[6] The general election took place November 4, 2014.
