This measure sought to renew the current school levy which was set at a rate of $.422 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for emergency requirements as needed in the school district.[3]

The question on the ballot:
Shall a levy renewing an existing levy be imposed by the Swanton Local School District for the purpose of providing for the emergency requirements of the school district in the sum of $825,000 and a levy of taxes to be made outside of the tenmill limitation estimated by the Fulton County Auditor to average 4.22 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.422 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013?[4] |
