Thomas Bixler was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 18 of the South Dakota State Senate.[1] He ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in State legislative elections, 2012.

The general elections for the office of South Dakota State Senate took place on November 4, 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. Bernie Hunhoff was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Matt Stone defeated Thomas Bixler in the Republican primary. Hunhoff defeated Stone in the general election.[2][3][1]

Bixler ran in the 2012 election for South Dakota House of Representatives District 18. Bixler and Matt Stone were defeated by Mike Stevens and Thomas D. Stotz in the Republican primary on June 5. Charlie Gross and incumbent Bernie Hunhoff ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. Incumbent Nick Moser (R) did not run for re-election.[4][5]
