Three nominees selected for Stark County appointment
September 26, 2012
Ohio: In a meeting last week, six individuals hoping to succeed Judge Charles E. Brown, Jr. presented their cases to the Stark County Republican Party Executive Committee. The committee in turn nominated three candidates, whose names they will forward to Governor John Kasich. The governor is responsible for selecting the new judge.[1] The three candidates selected were:
- Stephen Belden: Belden is a judge on the Canton Municipal Court. He has served on the court for sixteen years.[2]
- Kristin Farmer: Farmer is a magistrate on the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, though she works with Judge Lee Sinclair.[2]
- Lori Flowers: Flowers is currently a magistrate for Brown, and has worked throughout the legal system during her fourteen-year career.[2]
All three nominees are Republicans. Brown's successor will be Governor Kasich's twenty-second appointee to the Ohio Courts of Common Pleas. For the other judges appointed by the governor, see: Judges appointed by John Kasich.
