Tom Parker was a candidate for the Area 4 seat on the Merced City School District school board in California. Parker was defeated in the by-district general election on November 8, 2016.[1]

Three of the five seats on the Merced City School District Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. Two of the seats were up for election to four-year terms, and one seat was up for election to a two-year term due to an appointment on the board.[2] Appointed incumbent Michael Crass and challengers Marian Navarro Ledesma and Shane Smith ran for the two-year term in Area 1, and Crass won. In his bid for re-election to Area 2, incumbent Gene Stamm was defeated by challenger Miguel Lopez. The race for the open Area 4 seat featured candidates Emily Langdon and Tom Parker. Langdon was elected to the seat.[1][3]
