W. Joel Boles is a judge of the First Circuit Court, Divisions E and X, in Escambia County, Florida. He was appointed to this position by Governor Jeb Bush in October 2005 to replace former Judge John P. Kuder.[1][2][3] Boles was re-elected without opposition in 2014, winning a six-year term that expires on January 4, 2021.[4][5]

In November 2015, Boles applied for one of the upcoming Florida First District Court of Appeal vacancies created by the resignations of Simone Marstiller and Robert T. Benton II.[6]

Boles ran for re-election to the First Circuit Court.
As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [4] 

Education

Boles received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in 1983 and his J.D. degree from the Cumberland School of Law in 1987.[2]

Career

Prior to his judicial career, Boles worked as a shareholder in the Pensacola law firm of Wilson, Harrell, Smith, Boles & Farrington. He then became a judge of the Santa Rosa County Court. He served there for two years prior to his appointment to the circuit court in 2005.[2]
