Tracy Joint Unified School District school board At-large

Walter Gouveia was an at-large representative on the Tracy Joint Unified board of trustees in California. He was appointed to the board on January 31, 2017. Gouveia did not file to run for re-election in 2018.

Prior to his appointment, he served on the board for four years. He was elected on November 6, 2012, but he lost his bid for re-election on November 8, 2016.[1][2][3]

Three of the seven seats on the Tracy Joint Unified School District board of trustees were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. Incumbents Walter Gouveia, Jill Costa, and James Vaughn Jr. faced challengers Dan Arriola and Sondra Gilbert.[4] Costa won re-election, and Gilbert and Arriola won the other seats on the ballot.[5]

Gouveia reported $1,191.00 in contributions and $747.00 in expenditures to the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters, which left his campaign with $444.00 on hand in the election.[6]

Endorsements

Gouveia was endorsed by the Tracy Educators Association.[7]

2012

This election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbents Jill Costa and James Vaughn Jr. were re-elected and newcomer Walter Gouveia joined the board by default.[1]
