James Chylinski
James R. Chylinski is a judge for the 3rd Circuit Court in Wayne County, Michigan.[1] He was appointed to this position by Governor James Blanchard in 1990. He most recently ran unopposed for re-election in 2016.[2]
Biography
Chylinski was born on November 25, 1948, in Detroit, Mich. He received his bachelor's degree and J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy.[3][4]
Chylinski began his career as a private practice lawyer. He then worked for the Wayne County Prosectors Office as a trial lawyer for six years before becoming a judge of the 36th District Court in 1981. He then served as a judge of the Detroit Recorder's Court from 1983 until he was appointed to the circuit court bench in 1990.[3][5]

2016
Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[6] The following candidates ran in the 3rd Circuit general election (16 open seats).[2]
