Primary: He was defeated in the primary on August 5, 2014, receiving 26.3 percent of the vote. He competed against Anthony R. Brescol, Mark Braunlich, and Jarod Michael Calkins.Although his name remained on the ballot, Mark Braunlich was an inactive candidate. He was appointed to the 38th Circuit Court after the deadline passed to remove a name from the ballot, so his name was on the primary election ballot for the 1st District Court on August 5, 2014.
