Hart ran for an open seat on the Montgomery County Magisterial District. He was defeated by Deborah A. Lukens in both parties primaries on May 17. He received 48.8 percent in the Democratic primary and 18.8 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.[1] All candidates running for the seat were cross-endorsed by the Republican and Democratic parties.[2]
