| “ |
My motivation to serve on the School Board is influenced by my desire to provide a high quality public education for all children in Rockdale County Public Schools. I envision our school district to be the kind of district where every decision is made with academic achievement and student growth as a top priority while promoting programs that are educationally sound. In addition, I want to focus on teacher retention by offering incentives for outstanding performances, to provide additional support that will allow teachers to fully focus on classroom instruction, to differentiate instruction in ways that benefit every student in the classroom and to collaborate with teachers and administrators to understand the needs of our schools. I plan to build strategies that continue to use proven techniques for our schools to close achievement gaps. My goal is to create a district-wide climate that fosters excellent teaching, learning and an all-encompassing environment to all the stakeholders in Rockdale County. Most importantly, I will continue to work diligently to build bridges between the stakeholders and the school district in an effort to engage the community, empower families, and create opportunities for partnerships with the business community, corporations, and investors. It is my desire to work with a spirit of cooperation with my fellow board members, the Superintendent and his cabinet and the parents. [3] |
