Patricia Ann Williams, a caring and concerned citizen of the Virden Addition neighborhood of the community of Ward 3 in Jackson, MS. I am a proud mother to Andreya Williams, grandmother of four and great grandmother of two. I am a pastor at Lake Central and Union Chapel United Methodist churches, also a small business owner providing medical delivery service throughout the state of Mississippi. I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Jackson State University, a Masters in Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee and am currently pursuing a Phd in Leadership. As a homeowner and business owner in the Virden Addition community of Ward 3, I have directly experienced the effects of long term structural issues and crime, we need street-signs to identify locations, areas in need of repairs and beautification, and we need communication between citizens and law enforcement. I know firsthand what is needed and expected from leadership, we should be better informed and included in decisions affecting our ward in relation to the progression of the city of Jackson and the state of Mississippi. These are just a few reasons I decided to run as an independent candidate in this election to signal my intentions to work diligently across the administration board for the community of Ward 3 and the city of Jackson.
- Public Safety, visible street signs to know locations and boundaries, get needed repairs reported and completed, developing beautification projects and building working relationships between the people in the community and the people charged with policing the community. Our tax dollars paid to law enforcement that is actively serving and protecting our community should represent u.. Our tax dollars are not meant for killing and harming our children. This can only be achieved through cooperation with the residents and those in law enforcement.
- Youth Development to strengthen their mindset and develop strong leaders by conducting youth led think tanks and programs in technological innovative developments and creating recreational spaces and providing employment for those in the community and outside it as necessary
- Small Business Development to attract competitive business to the area, promoting and developing entrepreneurial business development, and supporting existing small business with mutually beneficial incentives.
