Michele M. Woodard was a justice of the Nassau County Supreme Court in the 10th Judicial District of New York. She joined the court in 2001, following her election.[1][2] She was defeated in the 2014 election and stepped down at the end of her term.[3]

Woodard ran for re-election to the Supreme Court, 10th District.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 1.5 percent of the vote. She competed against Sharon Gianelli, Thomas F. Whelan, Anna R. Anzalone, Angelo A. Delligatti, Kathy G. Bergmann, David A. Morris, Sandra L. Sgroi (incumbent) and Gail Prudenti (incumbent) for six open seats. [3] 

Education

Woodard received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in 1976 and her J.D. degree from the Ohio State University School of Law in 1979.[1]

Career

Woodard began her career in 1979 as a legal fellow & staff attorney for Queens Legal Services. She left that position in 1982 to become an assistant attorney general. She then worked as a supervising attorney of Mirkin & Gordon from 1995 until she was elected to the supreme court in 2000.[1]
