David Powell was the Trustee Area 4 representative on the Saugus Union Board of Education in California. He was appointed to the board in July 2014.[1]
Powell sought another term in the general election on November 8, 2016, but it was canceled due to lack of opposition. He was re-elected to the board by default.[2]
Elections

Three of the five seats on the Saugus Union School District Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. The Trustee Area 3 and 4 seats were up for election to regular four-year terms, and the Trustee Area 5 seat was up for election to an unexpired two-year term due to an appointment on the board. Trustee Area 4 incumbent David Powell and Trustee Area 5 incumbent Chris Trunkey ran unopposed and won re-election by default. Candidates Bruce Fox and Julie Olsen ran for the open Trustee Area 3 seat, and Olsen won the election.[2][3]

This race was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbent David Powell won re-election by default.[2]
