  • Best Management Practices (BMPs), properly employed, can reduce erosion of soil and increase purity of water.
  • Financial assistance is available through various local and state actors.
It is a statutory office which, like many government offices, has duties that might overlap those of others. In that sense it is not unique. What makes it unique, though, is the fact that it is an elected position but one "manned" by volunteers.
