Randy Saavedra was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 10 of the New Mexico House of Representatives.
Biography
Saavedra earned his B.S in business management from the University of Phoenix.[1]
Campaign themes
2014
In an article in the Albuquerque Journal, Saavedra said he was running for the following reasons:[1]
- Excerpt: "It is with great enthusiasm and pride in my community that I declare my candidacy. Born and raised in Albuquerque’s San Jose area, I love our people and history. My experience includes 20 years of public service. As your state representative for District 10, I will continue to work on economic development, education, crime prevention, infrastructure and access to health care."
Elections
2014
Elections for the New Mexico House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014, and a general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 4, 2014. G. Andres Romero defeated Randy Saavedra and Sisto A. Abeyta in the Democratic primary. Robert Schiller ran as an independent candidate. Romero defeated Schiller in the general election.[2][3]
