Bennett A. Morris is a judge on the Montrose County Court in Colorado.[1] He was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in August 2012 to fill the vacancy created by Jerry J. Montgomery's retirement.[2]

Morris was retained by voters in 2014, winning a four-year term that expired on January 7, 2019. [3]

Morris was retained to the Montrose County Court, Colorado with 65.9 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [4] 

Judicial performance evaluation

The Colorado Commissions on Judicial Performance recommended that Judge Morris be Retained. The full report is available here.

Education

Morris received his bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and his J.D. from the University of Idaho.[2]

Career

Morris was the senior assistant city attorney in Montrose, Colorado from 2003 to 2012. Prior to that, he was an indemnity and claims evaluator at the Land Title Guarantee Company.[2]
