Robert M. Stolz is an acting justice for the New York County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 1st Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to this position in 2005. He has also served on the New York City Criminal Court of New York County since 2003. He was reappointed to the criminal court in 2012.[1][2]

Education

Stolz received his B.A. degree from Columbia University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from the Fordham University School of Law in 1976.[1]

Career

Stolz began his career in 1976 as a private practice lawyer. He alternated between work as a lawyer (1976-1980, 1987-1990) and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York (1980-1987, 1990-1995) before his judicial appointment. In 1995, he was appointed to the New York City Civil Court as an interim judge. He was then appointed to the New York City Criminal Court in 2003. Since 2005, he has served as an acting justice of the New York County Supreme Court.[1]
