J. Mark Hannen

J. Mark Hannen was a judge for the Eighteenth Judicial District Court of Colorado. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Bill Owens in 2002.[1] He retired on July 1, 2015.[2]

Education

Hannen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law.[3]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Hannen served as an attorney for Douglas County from 1989 to 2002. Prior to that, he worked in private practice.[3]

Elections

2012

Hannen was retained to the Colorado 18th Judicial District Court in the general election on November 6, winning 72.52 percent of the vote.[4]

Judicial performance evaluation

The Eighteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.


Judge Hannen was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [3]
